I know how difficult the wait is for everyone. Hang in there! Every situation is different, as is each person's experience.
My youngest daughter submitted her application a few days prior to the due date, mid-January. She did not request an interview (didn't know you could?) and was not asked for an interview. Her portal showed missing information and was not updated as things were received. A few e-mails to her AO and he said not to worry, that they received everything they needed.
The portal seemed to be very far behind and has remained that way. She received a call and subsequent text last Thursday night from her AO. She missed the call and ended up talking with him on Friday. She thought it was going to be a request for additional information or an interview. Her AO told her that he wanted to be the first to let her know that Admissions met the previous week about her application, and he wanted to be the first to tell her that the Superintendent had tendered her a full appointment. He said it would take a few days for her portal to update.
She's been checking every day and finally tonight the portal changed. All of the checkmarks were gone, except one. It indicated that a decision had been made and a link to check for results.
The offer letter came up, which had statistical information I wanted to share: "Almost 1,900 students applied for an appointment this year, and from this group we will tender fewer than 350 appointments to yield an incoming class of 295 cadets."
Within the congratulatory letter, there was a link to confirm our address and complete a short, online form.
I know that there are a lot of questions and anxiety for those still waiting. I wanted to share our experience and encourage you all. It's not over until you receive a rejection. All the best!
