Roller coaster II: Get Me (The Parent) Through Plebe Year Class of ‘25 🎢

So, DD has PROTRAMID in San Diego - being all new and interested in info before she apparently gets told. Where do they stay? Navy pays for it all? Flight there and back is paid but not to their home airport? Any info would be great! TIA
They leave and return to the yard but if your DD is going to be home before, she may be able to request to go directly to San Diego (if you're closer). Not sure who would pay then. My DS had PROTRAMID in San Diego. Lots of fun and things to do. She'll need spending money for sure. Just don't let her spend all her held pay there. I hear some '24s did.

DS had a(nother) busy weekend. He called Saturday to lament that 12 weeks were over and they were supposed to be on the back side of the Plebe year but Company leadership has them running. In addition to having to change rooms, he had MO for ECA for overnight, "PCB" (don't recall what the letters mean but basically an interview on ProKnow along with uniform inspection) prep, multiple papers and labs to complete. To top it off he had his PCB this morning at Zero dark thirty and have mando lecture tonight. He has had lots of practice with prioritization and staying focused.

Just another reminder that this in N*ot College. He was so turned around yesterday he thought Easter was two weeks away! I got him straightened around.

6 weeks til Herndon!!! Plebes No More

last week, DD (current HS junior) got a postcard from St John's College . We all a had a great laugh that she should apply and it would be easier for us to only drive to Annapolis to visit her and DS. Even as "liberal" as DD is currently she could not see herself at "The Most Contrarian College in America".

Finally took the trek to USNA to convert the temporary DBIDS paper to a legit card, I feel like BIG BUSINESS now! 😉 Not easy trying to get down during the week. And of course another stop at the Mid store. Also the high light of course seeing DS for a few in between classes.

An invaluable experience and education! I teach undergrads at a well-regarded university. The students’ #1 challenge — and downfall — has little to do with academics. It has plenty to do with the inability to prioritize and focus. Plus poor attention to detail. All three are addressed in spades at USNA. It makes all the difference in the world.

It is usually open on Saturdays of home football weekends to capture reunion class traffic.
Didn’t realize one could process a DBIDS on a football Saturday. Good to know!
