I received an email about the Inspire person for USNA. I can’t really find more research on it. Should I contact my B&G officer for more info? I don’t really know much about it, but I’ll attach what I got here. Thanks.

There is a thread about this program back in 2021. An upgraded version of the candidate visit weekend (ie, the offer to pay for flight, room for parent/guardian). If you are interested in USNA, this program is a great opportunity to tour, shadow, inquire, etc.

Based on what I read in this forum, it's an invitation to apply. There appears to be a short essay required and the selection (30 candidates) is announced end of January.

One of my students attended the program last summer. He loved it. If you're interested in attending USNA, then I would recommend applying and attending, if possible. Good luck!

One mystery is how USNA selected the invitees. My son has not even submitted the NASS application yet (started).

It’s a mystery to me as well. Although, Inspire email arrived about 2 days after application was submitted for SS. Curious to know if this invite was just blasted out to everyone, or there was actually some superlative in the application that triggered this.

I read this before, but it does not explain HOW invitees were selected and based on what criteria. This is especially mysterious given that my son has not submitted the NASS application yet, but received the invitation yesterday...
I think the program is deliberately elastic in giving Admissions the freedom to identify different parameters as class-building goals evolve.

Your son may be in some database(s) - at a guess standardized tests, or even just a log-on or access when an email is captured in certain places.

Back in the 20th century, I was astonished at the college-related mail that arrived for me after the PSAT and other standardized tests - long before digital marketing tools developed.

Hi! I was one of the Inspire Program attendees from the previous group. If you have any questions, feel free to DM me!
Thanks for getting back! It says to email them back, did you see the essay prompt in the og email or after the reply? Thanks again.

The email I received had a registration link embedded into it for us to fill out a form with the essay being at the end of the form. Looking at the screenshot you attached, I can see some differences between your email and the one I received so I recommend that you just follow the instructions they gave you about how to respond.

Was that the initial email that you were sent for the program, or were you sent an intro email followed by the one with the link? If it was the former, I am starting to think that these are just email blasts to stir up interest. It is interesting as the inspire email was directed to my son by name, but the CVW email appeared to be a blast out.

It was the initial email. Mine didn't direct me by name.

It is highly recommended that should you be one of the select students to receive an invitation to the INSPIRE program that you accept the invite and go.

From what I remember last year, you are not selected to go but selected to APPLY. You could say this program is fairly competitive, inviting students from all over the nation.

So there was more info that I didn't include, also I have an interview coming up soon. Thanks.

I received an email stating that there would be a google meet set up in a couple days where I would have to attend it with one parent, is this an interview?

I got the first email a few days ago and replied a few days ago, but I did not get a response. How long did it take for you to get the application link email after showing your interest?

I heard back from them two days later. They said that many people have shown interest in the Inspire program which is also why it took a delay in responses. Also, there was no application link. The next step is a virtual call.

I'm also starting to think that many people of minority were offered a selection to apply for the Inspire program but ultimately only 30 will get in. I know someone at school that got offered to apply to Inspire Program but did not get a CVW invitation as well.
