... as I'm sure the Mids from 2023 Ship Selection are there now.

The world is in some form of embers or kindling everywhere. May those who wear our uniforms and who have raised their hands be safe and protected. May they use their training and leadership to make the right decisions.

May they come home to us. And may those they fight to protect come home as well.

These events have such far reaching repercussions and we are on a precipice. Worried for sure. Sad. Cried today many times listening to the stories of those who were killed, tortured, taken captive. No civilians should be targeted in this way.

... so brave hamas, killing and kidnapping children, teenagers, infants, handicaps, senior citizens, party goers, soldiers, women, men, young, and old. Yeah, they're brave against civilians. Cowards! Period!
To end this madness in 24 hours, have Delta and the 75th Ranger Regiment conduct a vertical insertion in Gaza Strip to conduct direct actions and hostage rescue. SEAL Team 3 conduct amphibious insertion to block escape routes and secure high-value targets (HVT). 5th Special Forces Group follow on the next day to conduct Civil Military Operations (CMO) along with Civil Affairs (CA) / Psychological Operations (PSYOPS) Groups as well coordinates with Nongovernmental Organizations (NGO) and Governmental Organizations (GO) to conduct humanitarian missions. Carrier Strike Group Ford can provide sorties up to 270 per day as well as standing by for Non Combatant Evacuation Operations (NEO). Thoughts? and/or Bofors Flaks are all welcome!

War and rumors of war,

As the potential for war approaches we don’t have a speaker of the house so the house is currently a lame duck, we don’t have a federal budget, we have 100s of senior military officer positions that are being held up by one man, outside forces who are not in the military are trying to micro manage how our SAs pick our officer corps, its time to deal with the Putin supporters within , and get ready for the next war.

And we have a major recruiting crisis

Lmao Putin supporters within. Almost too convenient.

People not in the military picking our officer corps?!? Or using the judicial system to challenge the constitutionality of the selection process? You think that Putin supporters from within are challenging it? Haha

How about the money sent to Iran that helped to fund this terror attack against Israel? How about reports the weapons left in Afghanistan were used? How about the reports of Hamas cells that came across our “secure” border.

One man representing his constituents doesn’t want the taxpayers to pay for abortions. He must be a Putin lover.

What does not having a speaker really do? Do all of those ships being sent not have leaders?

Or even seeing folks in Time Square cheering for the death of 700 people.

I’ll comment on some of the Navy portions. Regarding the Ford Strike Group, 270 combat sorties is way too high for daily operations. You would wear the air wing out with those numbers in sustained operations. I think that is why the COCOM has ordered the mobilization of Air Force fighter and attack aircraft. A certain synergy can be achieved by going purple. Regarding NEO operations, a better choice would be the deployed Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). The amphibious capability along with rotary wing and Osprey capability are better suited to evacuate non-combatants. It is one of the Marine Corps' core competencies. It wouldn’t surprise me if they were steaming east through the Med as we speak. God bless them all.

I haven’t had a chance to look or read… does it mention where the Air Force is basing out of?

... Roger.

Been a cell planner twice in COMPACFLT (Joint Base Pearl Harbor) during joint training exercises. I've seen Wing Commanders flatly say no to sorties request based on aircraft availability, fuel, and space.

Yes, MEU is better suited for NEO.

I haven't seen it but a couple of places come to mind. Incirlik Air Base in Turkey, NAS Sigonella in Sicily, and perhaps RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus.

That would be a VERY hasty response. Let the tenant handle his own business as he is more than capable of doing and render all reasonable assistance upon request. It is in our best interest to help to weaken the aggressors in this fight and to help a long time ally. The heavy lifting is not ours to do on the ground.

I agree that anyone thinking this is an Israeli problem/issue has put their head in the sand. I doubt we will do what you suggest (at all). But, we should understand that this evil is aimed at Israel and the United States. They just happen to be on the front lines in this instance. I do hope that, at a minimum, our support for Israel is unwavering and that we do not try to encourage a cease fire. Calls to that effect are entirely out of order. Israel, our ally, should be encouraged to complete its mission(s). US involvement along the lines you describe is exceedingly unlikely.

I find it terrifying, they way it went down, if what’s being reported is true. That Israel is prepared for missal attacks, but not the ground attack that occurred.

Looking back in time, things seem so obvious. I worry we will fall victim to that again in our own nation.

Like 911. Or Pensacola incident.

We are so freaked out. My wife is Israeli and has family back there. My brother in law's partner has a brother and nephew in Israel. Both father and son were called up for the reserves. One was sent to the Lebanese border in case Hezbollah doe something and the other does technical work where he was sent to fix something near the Gaza border. A rocket landed about 100 feet from where he was. My uncle is in the north which is quiet unless Hezbollah decides to get involved. All of our other relatives are relatively older so they are spending time in bunkers when air raid sirens and warnings go off. Being that Israel is such a small country, everyone knows someone who died or was kidnapped so it heartbreaking for everyone. Can you imagine Hamas kidnapped an 85 year old Holocaust survivor in a wheelchair . I have to imagine she thought she would never have to endure something like the Nazis again and here she goes again. Even if they don't mistreat her, a women that age in that condition probably takes medicine every day and i highly doubt it will be provided. They took 12-year-old kids. It's insane. Now they are threatening to kill hostages if Israel keeps bombing Gaza. The truth is Israeli doesn't need the US to defeat Hamasl. What Israel needs to is not worry about what Iran, the UN and the ICJ which will eventually do in penalizing Israel for defending itself and ignoring what Hamas has done.

The best to you and yours in this.

My DD's Hawkeye Squadron is currently onboard the Gerald R. Ford. I heard from her yesterday (Sunday) that they were being diverted to the eastern Mediterranean. No other news so far, and I don't really expect any until she says they're homeward bound.

My thoughts and prayers for all the people, Israelis and other nationalities, caught up in this madness. To all our service members, take care! do your duty to the best of your ability, and please come home safe.
