Likely that Army won't waste a night when their drive is only 3-4 hours.
Pretty sure the AD had nothing to do with the mids accommodations, nor does he care if the non-football player mids are rested. Rest assured that the football team is staying in actual beds at a hotel! Not sure what the AD was thinking... Looks like a Hurricane storm shelter. I'm not sure how well rested the'll be for game, ride home and finals Tuesday. My MID doing Friday midnight bus, hoping to sleep the whole way
oops i apologize for posting the same exact thing as you did.... ETA 1500 Friday at RI Convention Center, 25 mikes from stadium. Not 5-star accommodations but it is link via sky-bridge to the Omni Hotel , Providence Place Mall, and Dunkin' Donuts Center .
Really not that impressive from the logistic perspective if they are launching at 2400 and essentially pulling what will be 24 hour day. The 7ish hour drive isn't a whole lot different than the normal 3-4 hour drive going to Philly from the logistical perspective...but the toll on the Midshipman is much greater. Army Navy is a long day even when we had a 0400 launch.Logistically it’s impressive what they’ve done. At the same time, it is strange to me that the game would be held so far away from the Academy that this is necessary.
Did they do the ball run back then?Really not that impressive from the logistic perspective if they are launching at 2400 and essentially pulling what will be 24 hour day. If you want to see impressive logistics...moving and housing 8000+ to Los Angeles and back over the course of a 5 days for the 1983 A-N game in Pasadena was truly epic !

Not sure why they might even see the Cross Bronx. Shifting from the NJ Turnpike to Garden State Parkway to 287 and over the Tappan Zee then follow 287 to CT Turnpike or Wilber Cross avoids the hellish nature of the Cross Bronx and follow on portions of I95Fortunately the CT DOT took pity and pushed construction on I-95 North at the CT/RI state line to Monday. I'm sure they will still have to deal with the normal Cross Bronx/Stamford bohica.
That's how I used to drive up to gf/fiance/now wife home in Boston area when I was a Midshipman. The Connecticut Turnpike was bad then, and worse now !Not sure why they might even see the Cross Bronx. Another 18 buses left the Yard at 0600. DD 4/C said cots were full by 1530. Shipshape. They are now at the WWE Smackdown Tribute to the Military. ( )Update: DS 3/C texted Bus Departure 12 Midnight. News reporter announced that the 700 bunks at the RI Convention Center are for Plebes. Yesterday a Plebe parent mentioned same 12 Midnight departure. Ok we all need to remember this ---> "The reason the American Navy does so well in wartime is that war is chaos, and Americans practice chaos on a daily basis."
