Public Health Service - a uniformed service

My father was a commissioned officer in the USPHS and had a very distinguished and respected career. The USPHS paid for all of his undergraduate education, very much like ROTC. It's a a noble service!

Thank you for your replies! His top two are USNA and USAFA due to his aviation goals. USCGA third, but no nomination needed, and USMA 4th (breaking my Army heart). While he wants an academy, ultimately, he wants aviation and will take whatever road gets him to the end goal, whether is ROTC or...

So what are your kids doing for the summer?

He is only 15, but I will definitely check out SLCDA for next summer. We did apply for USNA STEM but won't hear until May. Hoping he makes it in, but it's only a week of a very long summer for a proactive kid.

Starting this journey with my son...

That is definitely his focus ~ he has a 3.9 GPA and is in all AP courses, and a year ahead in his math and sciences courses. He already took PSAT and we are waiting on results. He's taking a SAT prep class next year as an elective. The hardest part is trying to balance it all. He plays 3...

We are exploring ALL options ~ and honestly, it's quite overwhelming. Lol. I think he will narrow things down over the next year, but I still feel pressure since timelines begin so early with these things.
