My DS also got a call yesterday from his coach offering a appointment, conditional on DODMERB. He took the eye exam last week and the physical is tomorrow. We are all very excited. He will accept. We'll wait to post on the appointment thread until all the "i's" are dotted and "t's" crossed...

Just to confirm what Korab was saying...a young man at my DS's HS received an LOA this fall. He is a highly recruited athlete, but also has a 1400 SAT, perfect 4.0+ GPA with AP Calc, AP Com Sci, AP Chem and AP Physics, with lots of leadership as well. A great kid. USCGA isn't giving LOA's out...

My DS was accepted. He plans to attend the first week and then attend a USCGA soccer ID clinic the Saturday after Week 1. He's very excited for the opportunity and we hope the program is able to take place.

They sent out an email today announcing that they have cancelled all camps. It's small thing in the big scheme of things, but it is a disappointment none the less.
