I totally understand where you're coming from as well as other cadets that are disgusted by how the leadership handled recognition this year as well as the whole intensity of 4th class development. However, I have a slightly different perspective on this.

This may be an unpopular opinion but I'll comment for your potential insight.
It is true USAF/USSF has much higher percentage of "desk-job" career fields compared to USA and USN (and most certainly the USMC). I mean we are a support service branch although there are plenty of "hands on" combat...
I did a semester exchange at USMA and this was my personal observation.
The atmosphere of USMA's Corps of Cadets was generally more uptight and serious compared to USAFA's Cadet Wing. More specifically, USMA cadets were on average more professional and rigid compared to their USAFA counterparts...

Yes I have spoken to admissions officials and they confirmed that USAFA focuses more on academics than other aspects. Also if you look at USMA's WCS point distribution, you can find out they are a lot higher points allotted to leadership/sports than USAFA. Same thing applies to classes at the...
Can't speak intelligently on how you will do with admissions for the academies but from my experience, USMA had the easiest academic standards but was tougher on the leadership side. USAFA was quite the opposite as they had high academic standards but lower demands on the leadership side. Either...
You will have to take both once you get to USAFA: stats and calculus. If you can't take both, I would take whichever one you would do better in and enjoy more. It's senior year transcript and one class won't impact admissions that much.
