So, it appears a non-restricted graduate will have a difficult time getting into the Navy Civil Engineering Corp based on the feedback I have received. What options are there on the Marines side if one wants to do actual hands-on engineering work?

Thanks for all of the good replies. So....is it possible to get into the Civil Engineering Corps and or Seabees out of USNA if you are "restricted"? Would it even be worth listing it as a number one choice?
