Agree with the reply by Falcon A. Participation in athletics is a very important component of the admissions criteria and very much a part of cadet life, however your other ECs are excellent. Be sure to write the essay and be sure to go for an admissions interview.

I think you may be misreading the instructions. My son did not graduate until June 2nd last year and The VMI Post View for his Final HS Transcript Received date was 06/20/2017.

You can check your status online at Post View/Communications/Document. There will be a notation "Medical Forms Approved" along with a date the Admissions Office received the notice

I also suggest you complete your physical and submit your forms ASAP so that the VMI docs can review and give you the go ahead soon rather then obtaining a decision closer to matriculation. Give yourself plenty of time in case you need to seek alternatives.

VMI will require an advanced math (beyond 2 years of algebra and 1 year geometry) for admissions which for most students is pre-calc. If you are in NROTC at VMI calculus classes are required. Better figure out a strategy to survive pre-calc in high school.

Thank you Dadof2. Not planning to add to the list, just wondering if the list says bring a minimum of six towels or 18 pairs of socks and I bring eight or 21, can I put the extra in storage and have access when I may need them.

Do Rats have access tothe trunk room? For example, if I have extra items than the minimum can I retrieve them when needed?

Other than stacking neatly all the clothing items for transport to VMI, is there any reason to fold them since I assume we will be quickly told the proper way to fold all the clothing for storage in our rooms?
