DS was awarded the 4-year AROTC scholarship today! He's still really hoping for a nomination but it's a huge relief for me knowing he has a financially viable path forward.

I can't help but check my DS' portal 3+ times a day. :p This is also the final week of USCGA nominations, which he's also in the running for, so it feels like we're just hanging in limbo with a whole lot of his future riding on how things play out this week.

Warning - anxious parent post. I'm feeling pretty down on my DS' chances this week. He wants it so bad but I just have a feeling he's on the margin. Stellar ACT score (33) but lesser gpa and while he's a recruited athlete he's not at the 'we REALLY want this kid' level. He wants it so bad...

The USCGA uses your composite super score for your overall ACT score (your best score from each of the four sub tests regardless of the date you earned that score) but will look at subsection scores as needed.

THIS may end up being a tough lesson for us. My DS failed to get his ducks in a row for EA by a matter of days. To be fair that's also his athletic season and an insanely busy time of year for our whole family but for anyone reading this for next year, don't wait!

My DS now shows Boarded/UC. As I mentioned previously he is a first time applicant just prior to this last board so I'm thinking they've made it through most if not all of the files at this point.

Definitely a question for the PMS but we were told switching majors wasn't a huge deal as long as it did not impact your program length.
