Hello all, Just a couple questions now, for the moment, as I write a screenplay about a young lady who goes through the Academy (Fictional) but I want to keep to as much truth as I possibly can so as not to degrade the integrity of this fine institution.. 1. Cadets from their second, third and fourth class. do you have a title other than Class 2, 3 or 4th?
2. I understand that when new Cadets are starting out, they must give up their electronic devices among their civilian clothing (locked away). at what point does a cadet get to have their cell phones, if at all? Thank you for your time in answering these 2 questions!

1. Fourthclass cadets are called Doolies. 2-digs and 3-digs don't have other nicknames.

2. Electronics are only taken away during BCT (pronounced beast). They get them back after they are accepted into the Cadet Wing. They do not get their civvies back until after recognition.

last summer, they got to make one short call during basic (or some of them did anyway). That was around July 15 - ours lasted maybe 10 minutes. Then they get their phones on Doolie day out. That was July 29 I think. And my son got his phone back to keep on august 5.

So 4 degrees are called doolies, 3 degree may be call coaches but only by their 4 degree or in relation to the "oh you blanks coach?". Phone calls range. So for my basic we were supposed to have three (I-Day, sponsors, and another time) we got two. So if you want to show a quick phone call during the chaos of I-Day this would be most appropriate most experiences. The doolie outing day when they go meet their sponsors is the one calm day during basic but happens at different times. Another event not much know but keep constant is the rodeo. I wont go in depth as to not spoil it for incoming basics but it's a chill day during basic.
