I am visiting the NROTC unit of my accepted college. What is the appropriate dress code? Am I expected to wear a suit? Thank you.

I don't think they expect you to wear a suit. You're a high school student coming into the program in the fall. You've already earned the scholarship and chosen their program. I think some khakis and a polo shirt would be fine. I mean, put on a tie if you want, but we visited a number of ARTOC units during DS's college visits, and based on that I'd say business casual is fine. Cadre will be in uniform, but they're used to being around college kids all day, and half of them wear pajamas!

We visited a few ROTC units during DD’s/DS’s college tours. Seemed that “neat and tidy college student” was apropos. By that, I mean a pair of khakis and a collared shirt with clean shoes are fine. A pair of dark jeans are fine too. Yes, you’re a high-school student just visiting, but that’s not license to schlep in wearing torn jeans, a wrinkled shirt and a backward ballcap. First impressions do matter.
