USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

No way to know. The waitlist exists to provide the handy pool of people to pull from as they get down to the last X number of spots in the class.

Unknowns:
- # of spots they are trying to fill as the class settles out in the next 2 months
- # of people on waitlist
- when you would be notified
- all these variables vary from year to year
- chance of knowing chances? Zip.

At some point, you might be asked if you want to stay on the waitlist.

At some point, waitlisters may be encouraged to continue to pursue alternate plans (which you should already be doing).

I’m not counting on the MOC. My question is for the USNA admission if this step will now be skipped and move straight away to portal update since its already April 15.

Hard to say. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to this from the outside looking in. There were a bunch of declines last week, so I wouldn't assume it's an automatic decline if still pending right now.
 
So frustrating. Pending since November, get a turn down email last Thursday, was fine with it, get a poorly worded email saying that it was a mistake (quite the mistake), USNA waits to tell me until the last possible second that I’m waitlisted. Overall very mad and frustrated by the system and process.
