USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

I was turned down by both the Military Academy and Air Force Academy, but I stayed hopeful for USNA. I received a call from my congressman earlier today informing me of an offer of appointment!! Go Navy! Beat Army!
OUTSTANDING! GO NAVY! Well done

Just got the turn down email. Thank you all on this forum for being along for the ride. I am glad to say that I am now committed to Virginia Tech in the Corps of Cadets doing NROTC on my path to become a naval officer. I am currently undecided if I am going to reapply or not but I will keep my options open by filling out the preliminary application and taking the June SAT. I'll still be around the forum and I will definitely give updates on my time in VTCC for those who are interested in it as a Plan B. Good luck for those waitlisted or pending and Go Hokies!
Sorry to hear that, but best of luck! May wind up joining you. Haven’t settled on a Plan B — I have 2 great options, and VPI is one of them.

DS got TD few days ago. He already has USAFA appointment. Waiting for USMA. He really wants to attend Navy SA. is there a slight chance that TD candidate gets an appointment? I was reading a thread in USMA forum and this happened few times for USMA candidates past year

Received my turn down email and notification in the portal today for USNA as a first time applicant. Very unfortunate to see but I understand the select criteria and competition that plays into the Academy Admissions. I thank everyone on the forum that has provided advisory for me which has been an excellent help in formulating an application. I will be immediately starting my procedures to gather material and reapply to the academy for the class of 2029. Ultimate goal is working toward a stronger application for this upcoming cycle to hopefully be admitted or be offered an extension for NAPS/Foundation!

Goodluck to anyone still pending or waitlisted. Dont give up the ship!

The issue is greeting them with the proper rank. Called a gunny staff sergeant at NSI, got lit up like a pinball machine.
OH, and you better learn quick how to count rockers. You DO NOT want to confuse 2 with 3, 3 with 4. They will let you know quickly the difference between a 1stSgt. and a M/Sgt. Sgt.Maj. with a M/Gy.Sgt.

Sad. I've been watching and rooting for the last few MNs to hear news. It sounds like you're making your next plan of action. Best wishes and smooth sailing moving forward!

I really hate to deal with absolutes (except of course "100% of those that don't apply don't get in," ) but an applicant should consider the TD the final answer for this year.

A good reminder each incoming class is FULL of re-applicants.

Keep working hard and you'll be in 2029's class!

USMA isn’t USNA, a no is a no. If they were still considering a candidate, they’d waitlist them instead of turning them down completely

It would be a fallacy to assume the students with great academics don’t have other things outside of academics like leadership, extracurriculars, etc.

They may or may not. Some may have excellent qualities outside of academics.

It’s true you aren’t comparing just academics. You are comparing total whole person scores.
