USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

Has anyone received a reversal from TD to waitlist? My DS received an email today from Melody Hwang in admissions, who I believe I’ve seen on here as people receiving correspondence from. It says that they have taken another look and have placed him on the waitlist. He was turned down last Tuesday. Obviously good news, but curious if anyone has seen this before. I was active on checking the forum up until last week but with the TD we all took a break. Thanks
I am glad you got the TD changed. I hope you get the good news off the wait list.

While I am happy for you, I can't help but think how unprofessional this looks on the part of admissions. To make your child wait this long, only to put him through the emotional roller coaster of giving him a TD, then to repeal it, is not a good look. It makes you start to question the competency of those making these decisions.

Fingers crossed for you and I hope they reward your son with an appointment off that wait list!

but is worried that maybe they think she isn't as interested compared to the others calling/emailing.
She completed a arduous application that involved many different processes and tool alot of time and effort. She has also waited months for a answer without pulling her application. They know she is interested. Calling or emailing about status doesn't make applications think she is more "interested". They likely would appreciate the fact she doesn't want to bother them.

Not to mention the people that got a TD, emailed from admissions, our back to pending, then TD again. More than unprofessional in my opinion.

I received the same email. A former admissions person at the Naval Academy told me he’s never once heard of this happening.

Thank you. Her BGO actually suggested she call as well. So much information on either ends of the spectrum for sure!

Appreciate that. It has not been a good week for sure, although he has good options including to play a sport (D3) and these are life lessons. If a turn down stops him from his goal of being a naval officer, then he didn’t want it bad enough. Hopefully there will be a positive ending.
