We talked with one of the team coaches yesterday, they are still reviewing candidates and are having an atheletic review board today, so things are still possible...

DS got the teeny weenie email this evening advising a change to his status. He is pretty disappointed by the letter. Life goes on...

My DS also got the electronic TWE . Fingers crossed for the Prep School but at least now we can move on to plans B, C, and D. Congrats to all who received appointments - I wish you all the best of luck!

DS received e-mail and the letter on the portal. Letter simply said "We regret to inform you that you have not been selected." It made no mention of Prep School or a Foundation Scholarship. It then went on to tell him what to do if he wanted to reapply or seek a commission via alternative means. My question is he still in the running for the prep school or a foundation scholarship?

Sad day. We are thankful for the AFROTC scholarship and looking forward to seeing how God will use this unanticipated change of direction (DS had to reconsider schools at the last minute as #1 choice didn't admit him to the engineering school. #2 did, and offered him nearly 100% scholarship. Now, he is getting to know a new cadre on-line)

A Lt. that works in admissions told me that prep school and falcon scholarships are still being selected, .but on the portal it says that if you weren't selected for one of those, you won't hear from USAFA anymore. I would call your USAFA counselor, especially if you have deadlines for tuition deposits, or have an appointment to another SA that you want to accept. They are very understanding when it comes to that.

My portal changed today to read as follows:

"IMPORTANT NOTE – The majority of appointments for the Air Force Academy Class of 2017 have been made. In rare cases some additional appointments may be made if an opening becomes available. We will be selecting USAFA Preparatory School and Falcon Foundation Scholarship candidates in April and May. If you are selected for one of our preparatory programs, you will be notified through your portal. If you are not selected for one of our preparatory programs, we will not send additional correspondence."


Has anyone else seen this or have any further insight in what it might mean.

I know a lot of people got non-selects through the portal yesterday night/early this morning, myself included. So if you haven't received one yet, you're still in the clear!

Our portal is still reading that they are making selections through the 15th, so maybe we still have a chance...every set of fingers and toes in our house are crossed...waiting...waiting...

Daughter received the news today on her portal that she will not receive an Appointment. Her letter also indicated that she would not be placed in a "prepatory program" (just in case that gives you insight and possibly hope). I am very proud of her seeking an Appointment and for wanting to serve her Country. Congratulations to each of You receiving Appointments and best wishes to those who have yet to receive word! Still Grateful Dad in Tennessee!

I got my appointment offer in March, but it was condicional on me getting my asthma disqualification waived. I only just recieved notice this past week that I recieved a waiver for my asthma!
