Has anyone seen or heard about the amount of Appointment allocations were allotted this year?
I saw USNA was expecting 1100, USAFA class of 2022 was only about 780, so hoping the numbers arent that low again

Any ideas or thoughts on class size?

USAFA Class of 2022 numbers were not that low!
Last year's incoming class had 1182 on I-Day.
To get this number, they would have needed closer to 1400 offers of appointment.
 
Over the past six years/classes, the number of in-processing basics has ranged from 1168 - 1238.
I would expect this year's class to be within that variance.
 
Capri120, I just found one of your old posts that listed the amount of I-day class sizes for the past 6 years.

When I add up the 4 years and roll the enrollment it looks like this
16/17- 4802
17/18- 4828
18/19- 4782
19/20- 3544 which would leave about 1256ish open slots to get to the avg of 4800 students

Is that a fair assessment?
It looks like the average amount of kids coming out of AFA Prep is about 170
What is the amount of Blue Chip kids average coming in? My guess is about 110?

If those things are close to true there would be roughly 900-975 open slots?

Its a super stressful and complex process to try and understand!

Is the appointee kit showing only to those who are 3Q or already appointed? DS is still waiting on a waiver for USAFA but received one for AFROTC a while ago. I know it’s silly but any change on the portal starts off a ridiculous chain of hopes and doubts in my mind. DS, thankfully, is taking it all in stride.

I think the kit only shows to those that have been appointed. My DD is 3Q and it does not show for her. She just got her waiver two days ago.

How long did her waiver take?
 
Her ALO told her she was now 3Q but nothing official. Her waiver took a good two months start to finish but once she provided the last requested info, it was only a couple of days until it was posted. Posted on USAFA and USMA before DoDMERB.

As an excel nerd, I updated the appointment stats as of this morning, 2019 vs. 2018 using the threads on the forum, last year for the week beginning 3/4/18, 31 appointments were reported.

So far for 2019:
Accepted 35
Will accept 16
Undecided 11
Declined 3

As of 2/28/18 - 56 appointments self-reported, as of 2/28/19 - 65 appointments. This may or may not mean anything since its self-reported. Just a data point.

11 were Falcon Scholars for 2019.

Top 4 states with appointments:
CA - 8
TX - 8
FL - 6
IL - 4
NC - 4
