Have not heard anything from the ROTC scholarship, does that mean I did not receive it?

It seems like everyone is getting their scholarships awarded to them. Congrats to all those that received it.

I submitted my application VERY late! I finished my interview and application exactly on March 15th for the 2019-20 school year. I originally wasn’t planning on applying, but I got an email from a ROO stating that I still had the chance since Cadet Command extended the deadline to an additional 15 days (there were a lot less applicants this year). The final deadline was exactly March 15th.

I have an amazing GPA, great PMS interview, amazing resume for my application. Top 10 of my class. Various sports. Lots of volunteering and extracurriculars. I am a minority (Indian female). Terrible PFT score, but it is still decent for a girl.

I just want to know if I should stop dreaming that I might get it or still keep hope. The national-commit to a college May 1st deadline is approaching. I need to make a decision soon as where I wish to go. If I receive the scholarship, why would I not accept it?

If I don’t receive it, I will be fine. I will pursue NROTC as a Marine-option as a nonscholarship student. OR I will directly enlist in the marines (Had a change of heart with the army and decided I wanted the Marines. But if I receive the scholarship, then I would pursue Army because millitary is millitary)

My application still says “Boarded/under consideration”. I wonder if my late application submission has anything to do with it.

Patience is virtue. I’m sure I’ll find the results soon. I just wish I could know already!!

The only way to know if you didn’t get it is if you receive a letter saying so. Otherwise, keep the faith but also work on Plan B.

My DS is still waiting also. His application also says “Boarded/Under Consideration”. We are getting nervous also.

Realize its been less than a month since your package was completed - so this is a very short time. But even assuming you are not awarded a national award, if you are committed to enrolling in the ROTC, and have good credentials, do well your first semester, continue applying. The AROTC program I know awards 3.5 scholarships to cadets enrolled in the program and who are outstanding candidates. Work on your Physical fitness - this appears to be a weak point from your post.
