Physical Address Vs. PO Box

I'm trying to update my address for all of my banking/insurance/accounts/etc. to reflect starting basic training in two days. The problem is I don't know what my physical address is. I was given the PO box, but because it isn't technically an APO (which I don't fully understand because it is an APO on a base, but technically it isn't considered one from what I've read) I cannot select "Mailing address same as physical address" on any of my forms. Is this something I should try and call for to have them manually override? Or is there another address I should be putting for my physical address? For at least several of the services I'm trying to change a street address is mandatory, so I cannot just put USAF Academy and then press enter. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I’ll defer to those who know USAFA best, but here’s a possible solution:

Take a look at the link below. Scroll down to the FEDEX-type delivery address. That is an actual street address and zip. That can be different than your mailing address.

I know USNA best, and the same situation occurs there, where some entities cannot accept a P.O. address. There is a mid zip and P.O. Box for postal mail, and a street address and different zip used for physical location.

I am also an incoming basic cadet, so this advice is just based on what I have done. I'm not sure what your family situation is, but if you trust your parents and they are unlikely to move in the near future, your best situation is likely to continue using your "home of record" for many of these mailings. Your physical address should most definitely be your "home of record" (for instance, you will continue to vote in your home constituency) but you might consider using your USAFA P.O. box in order to receive pertinent mail direct to you rather than indirectly through your family.
Best of luck, see you on Thursday.

This works for some things, USAA was diffcult but I called them and got everything worked out. Thanks!

I suggest reaching out to the Parent Liaison; she sends out emails with the mailing info you need.

She is wonderful & helped me out several times. Good luck!
