USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

I have a quick question- I received an LOA on 12/12, then only missing my nomination. I received my nomination and my MOC informed me that my official offer of appointment should be in my portal today. There is still no change, is that something to be worried about or should I remain patient? Thank you!
can take 4 - 5 days for Portal to update and show the "Accept" button.

my DS got his Nom last week, Portal updated this morning, of course he accepted!!

For those who have accepted, please reach out to your local parent club! In Wisconsin, we are WISNAPA! Please send an email to wisnapacontact@gmail.com We also have a facebook page - you will need to show verification of your acceptance.

Congrats! Go Navy, Beat Army!

Is it likely to start seeing daily appointment offers now rather than weekly?

So I've had an 'x' for my bgo interview in my portal for a while even though I've completed it and contacted my admissions officer about it who said that it was received. But very recently they changed my BGO officer in my portal and are now asking for another BGO interview even though the deadline has passed and I already did it last year. Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm not sure, but if they're telling you to do a new one, than they're not screwing you over probably.

Sorry if this has been answered already, I swear it has but I cannot find the answer through google or the search feature. Does admissions decide on your file while you're working on a waiver? They do right? I just can't find anything regarding this.

Not identical to your situation, but the experience my son had with his BGO Interviews last cycle. Assigned BGO in April/May. Works to schedule interview. BGO has personal issues and postpones interview hour before scheduled start. Pushes interview back 3 weeks. Interviews. Wait 3 weeks. No update to portal BGO Interview status. Another BGO reaches out to schedule another interview. BGO listed in his portal updates to a different BGO (not the initial BGO or the one that reached out). He reaches out to 3rd BGO and confirms that 2nd BGO, who conducted interview, is the correct contact and no further action required. Portal eventually updates.

Yes. Admissions will review your academics, your CFA, and your medical status. They will make a determination if you are 3Q (or should be put in for waiver review). Then, it is up to Noms and Appointments to put the jigsaw puzzle of the slates together for the incoming class. If they choose you in that group, and you are still not medically waived by the mid-April timeframe, you will more than likely be placed on the waitlist pending your waiver (if it is given). If no waiver, you will get your TWE.

Admissions is a multi-headed machine. There is not one group that makes sole determination of your appointment.

Can BGOs see the admissions decisions in real time? Or would a candidate be breaking the news to them?

So needing a waiver is a detriment to ultimately receiving an appointment? “If you haven’t received a waiver by mid-April you’ll be put on wait list?” I’m very confused about the waiver. My son was D/Q because he was prescribed an inhaler last year, which he barely used. He had a lingering cough from being sick. He is a cross country/track runner and has no underlying lung problem. I understand the need to be thorough, but I’d hate to see his application hurt by this as it is 100% not a problem. His doctor offered to write a letter. Should we be reaching out to DODMERBS and/or Navy waiver review? Everything I’ve read says sit tight it’s automatically under waiver review. We have heard nothing since September. He passed CFA with excellent scores and has his nomination.

You need to be 3Q for an appointment. If you are dq’d for medical, you are 2Q and need a waiver.

If you are competitive, a waiver review will be initiated. Some conditions aren’t waiverable, some are, and some are legally capped at the number given.

Don’t worry about waitlists and slates. Respond to all requests.

The waiver process can take weeks to months. It is important to stay on top of communications and respond as quickly and thoroughly as possible. Have they requested AMI yet? Be sure your candidate is checking DODMETS portal for messages, email, answering all phone calls, and has a professional-sounding voicemail set up. If you can request past medical records/doctor’s notes so they are ready to go if requested. Sometimes that can take weeks. They may also request testing (pulmonary, etc) but that has to be done under their specifications/providers.

If the Noms and Appointments team wants you to fill out a slate spot, and you are not fully cleared medically yet (awaiting a waiver), then you will more than likely get waitlisted pending the waiver. As I mentioned above ^^^. No waiver, no appointment.

Has anyone's portals updated yet? Mine hasn't since yesterday at 10:00 AM....
