I didn't know what On3 was until I just Googled it. I saw there is a DomerDad there. That is not me. I had to come up with a handle for this account so I thought of DomerDad because I graduated from Notre Dame and I'm a dad. I noticed your previous posts. Was your son able to get an appointment at USAFA? My daughters are also in CAP. It is such a great program.

Strange Coincidence!
How's your daughters process been going? Hope she get's what she wants!!!
Our old neighbor's daughter is a Soph at ND and her sister is on the deferred list.
Our son chose not to apply at USAFA, he wanted more flexibility i think. We had some political friends lined up to help us w the nominations but he chose not to pursue.

His HS sends usually 1-2 kids to the academies each year which considering its a small school (600) seems like a large amount. It is a competitive HS associated with a University though so that's probably partially why.
He just had his AFROTC interview a few weeks ago. Said it was 2 hrs long w the LTC at the University.

He really loved CAP. Did it day he turned 12. Since he's been in HS though he's had conflicts on the nights they meet so he's been a C/Cpt for 2 years I think.

His profile I think makes him competitive (35 act, 3.7 gpa (no weight in his hs), he's gotten 5's on his AP exams each year and will have 9 completed this spring along w 2 dual credits, obviously CAP, all state band, national debate, speech etc. He only did XC for 2 years and played LAX on the club side so his sports piece is lacking. He's looking at University of IL, Vandy and some smaller schools. We are in IL.

That is great to hear. I tell people that CAP is the greatest youth leadership program out there. The kids really do learn how to follow and then lead. We are heading down to Annapolis tonight for her CVW.
