NROTC (MO) – When are you "a Marine"?

My DS went through OCS in 2019. Upon graduation, he received his EGA and was officially allowed to wear U.S. Marines on his uniform, which was never previously authorized.

Chance of receiving NROTC MO scholarship co/2024?

BariaOne, each year the applicant pool is different, but your credentials are impressive. My DS was selected on the first board in 2016 and you appear to have stronger credentials. Again, no one on this site can answer how you will stack up. Keep working hard and have a plan B such as college...

    PROTRAMID

Spera_14, it's good to research your options. My DS is currently a Marine Option 2/C Midn in an ROTC program. The year he completed CORTRAMID, which I believe is the ROTC equivalent, all of the Marine Option Mids got gassed twice. They all survived and so can you. Don't worry about and focus on...

    ADHD & DoDMERB

I'm not wading into the discussion about what you should have reported or should report during your DoDMERB exam. This is for the OP to decide. One point of correction regarding the statement, . This is incorrect, your medical records are confidential and protected by law under HIPPA...

Marine Option - Summer Training (2/C)

Does anyone have information on this summer's training plan for Marine Option 2/C mids. First, mountain warfare was cancelled. DS heard amphib cruise would be provided, but this didn't pan out. Next was told, he would be assigned to a Marine Corps unit training for deployment. So far no order or...

    CORTRAMID EAST 2018

DS is Marine Option and attended CORTRAMID West last year and had a blast. Based on his experience there is no need to prepare mentally or physically beyond normal unit PT. At CORTRAMID, they did some unit PT, but nothing crazy. Worst of it was the MO mids got tear gassed twice during Marine...

New PFT Standards for Marine Option Mids

I thought it would be helpful to provide the new Marine Corps PFT standards for mids: Marine Option students maintain a PFT score of 265 or higher to successfully complete the 6-week OCS course. The CFT minimum score is 235 3rd Class (CORTRAMID) - 220 2nd Class (MWTC) - 235 standard / Min...

    NROTC MO Scholarship

This was the same process last year. It means DD has been boarded to the district for review, but there is no decision. Keep waiting, cross your fingers and hope for a telephone call in early December. DS was selected during last year's early board so feel free to PM if you have any questions.

    Nrotc Marine Option?

mcchris72: congratulations on the FCB. I suspect the best, and perhaps only, path for attending a "regular university" would be to decline the scholarship and go college program. You could then reapply for a 4 year scholarship or try for side loaded.
