has anyone ever given a graduation gift to graduating/surviving Nuke Power School? Id like to give something meaningful but i have no ideas... (is there a NPS coin?)

DS will be getting his first sub assignment next year and i was thinking about gifting him some things he might need to pack. i get ads on social media for "Fleet sheets" that fit subs and ship cots. has anyone ever used these or similar? or are they even supposed to bring their own sheets...

Anyone know how long it takes to check in to new station? Nuke power school to be specific? Is it all day or hours? Or is it quicker?

question about the details of how the Navy moves a newly commissioned Ensign to their first place (in my sons case he will be going to NNPS in Goose Creek). he is being told he will be "moved from his hometown" but hes not at his hometown as hes being required to work (stashed) at his school...

Does anyone know why the Navy ROTC commissioning date is different than the "official" commissioning date? DS has to travel back to his school unit weeks after graduation to sign the official paperwork.

can it be given by a retired navy officer? or should it be a NCO or enlisted only?

DS will be commissioning next May and has service selected Subs (Nuke interview later this month). anyone know the average time range that you must sit at your college unit while waiting to be called up to Nuke Power School? is it weeks/months? we need to figure out living situations sooner...

sorry if this has been answered before, but im looking for suggestions for a travel case for DS uniform hat/cover to keep it clean and secured while traveling. i found one on amazon but it was soft sided and doesnt seem to offer much protection. is there a preferred one i can purchase?
