    Turned Down by USNA

I also received the same email today. Was very disheartening at first, but I'm reminded that there other opportunities. I do plan to reapply for c/o 2024 and hope for a different result. Good luck to all of those still waiting, plan Bs for those turned down and to those who will be a part of the...

Currently accepted to Florida Institute of Technology, Penn State, University of Tennessee, VA Tech, Purdue, NC State, and UConn. Still awaiting USNA, USMA and University of FL....USNA is without a doubt my top...but I'm currently under waiver review so still holding out hope! Good luck to all...

    Not Sure About CPR

Does anyone know if there's a way to tell if we're actually being looked at/considered for a waiver or if the status stays the same until they make a determination? I was asked to do a remedial early on for USNA, completed that and a few days ago was asked by USMA to complete a different one...

    DoDMERB Remedial Codes?

The 259.01 is stating that the applicant has a DQ but that the waiver board is requesting AMI. 222.24 is what is actually needed which is an appointment to have a bilateral hip x-ray done....there are more specifics to the code as well, but that is the basics. You can go to main page of...

    State Nomination Threads - Moderated

My DS received nom from Congressman Lamborn for USMA and from Senator Gardner for USNA. Never heard anything either way from Senator Bennet's office so assumed (based on conversations he had with other candidates) that he did not get nom from Senator Bennet.

Anyone know what is allowed by academies for IUD's?

If hormonal changes are a worry/issue you can also consider the Paragard (if it doesn't hinder admission) which is very similar to Mirena but non-hormonal and good for 10years.

    AP Physics 1 or C?

My son did the same, Pre-Calc junior year and AP Calc and AP Physics C this year. He is doing well in both, but even better in Physics than Calc. It is a lot of work but can be done. (He also works a PT job). Good luck to you.

    Does this mean she's in?

Were you asked to send the follow-up medical info to USNA medical or did you just go ahead and send? My DS has a situation where he had an inaccurate diagnosis notated in his chart which showed a DQ on DODMERB initially. He contacted DODMERB and I believe admissions counselor to see if he should...

    "Alternate Nominee"

Based on the letter I received from my Senator and Congressman it asks that I please let them know if I choose to decline the nomination so that they may offer to someone else. So my guess is that this is why there would be alternates.

Words of encouragement to DQ'd Candidates

mrfritz44 thank you for this...I myself am in a similar situation where a provider wrote a diagnosis that she saw on a CT scan in her note when in fact it was just a "suspected" thing which was ruled out by a specialist. I was sunk when I saw the information pop up because myself or my parents...

    DODMERB DQ

Thanks Tbpxece. I am faxing the request to the hospital I was seen at when there was a question of the cholesteatoma. I was required to see an ENT previously for a remedial and was cleared from them. I will likely try to schedule an appt with ENT at the MTF here and see if they can submit...

    DODMERB DQ

I'm showing a DQ and pending waiver, but it says I was DQ for cholesteatoma and myopia. The myopia i expected, the cholesteatoma I never even thought about because I was about 12 years old and it was a misdiagnosis. I had a CT or MRI done at a MTF , their radiologist thought I may have a...
