I was a 2nd time reapplicant and had a college GPA of 3.4-3.5 at the time my application was submitted. My high school GPA was included in my application though and I had close to a 4.0.

I saw some people recommended bringing hair gel. I’m coming from AFROTC where fly aways aren’t a big deal and we only got extra brownie points if our hair was gelled. Is it different at USAFA? Females still have to slick back their hair there?

I saw your bio says AFROTC cadet, I’m one as well and did not receive an email. We had to turn in proof of vaccine last month so I’m assuming they already know I’m vaccinated and that’s why I didn’t get one. Might hold true for you as well.

I received a 4 Year Type 7 Scholarship. I'm from NJ, but going to AL for college. Would it be capped at my in-state (NJ) tuition or Alabama's in-state rate? Also, if I'm going out-of-state, would I have to convert to a 3 Year Type 2?

I’ll be in the same boat if I were to receive an AFROTC scholarship. If my school said my merit scholarship could only be used for tuition, is there a possibility AFROTC would allow me to put that money towards room & board?

Why wait until I-Day when you say you could get turned away? If that were to happen, then you would have just taken a spot from another just as deserving candidate who would have shown up and not been turned away. I suggest coming clean as soon as possible rather than wait.

I had this exact same problem. Email your Area Coordinator. I did and she replied saying to send a copy of my medical qualification from the DoDMERBs website. Once I did she said everything was in order.

Update from NJ-02: I received news today that I have received a nomination from Rep. Van Drew to both the Naval Academy and Air Force Academy.

How long did it take for those eligible to receive the Presidential nomination to see it show up in their USAFA Application? I've been back and forth with admissions and they told me everything I sent in was correct and received yet nothing has showed up under Nomination Status yet.

Most congressional representatives in NJ coordinate with Senators. I’m NJ-02 and although we had our interviews already (mid-November), they’re waiting to see who the Senators nominate to which academy before figuring out their noms. The noms will go out towards the end of this month.
