Kettering seemed nice, when I was out there, poking around.
Nice houses, small yards, lots of interactive neighborhood events on the town calendar...and close to base.
It saddens me to believe (and say, publicly) that I'm not all that shocked.
Tragic, that a rookie would think a Venmo (or similar) recovery of govt funds was legit...but that's how a ton of kids think, now.
Then again, a large swath of the gen-pop (private and biz) accepts it, so I suppose...
AFG. 12km outside the nearest FOB. Working solo.
20 feet from a mobile platform that has work to be done. Nobody's in it. No keys in the ignition.
Lights, horn, and wipers all activate, at the same time.
Then everything goes white, and I wake up.
I have that one, a few times per week...

My kid is missing ROTC Lab this entire semester, as his schedule was very strict with both Chem and Bio, to meet his major requirements. He makes up for it during Super-Lab, and a couple hours on weekends, catching up on...

Go forth and make changes, young one.
Met the CINC-HOUSE during a leadership conference in the middle of Corn Country. Her best friend was married to the guy I was teamed up with, for the duration of said conference.
We hit it off, found every dive bar and Irish pub within 50 miles of the base for a couple weeks, then went our...
