1st Semester Grades + Class Rank

Hey everyone, 1st semester is over here in Maryland, and I was curious if and how they should be sent to the Air Force Academy. Also, are they worth a lot to the admissions decision?

Secondly, my class rank has changed (very slightly), however for the better. I want my application to be in the best shape as it can possibly be. My rank changed from 40/410, to 38/404. Is it worth it to change it to the academy? And how could that be done?

Yes the transcripts should be sent. They need to be sent to admissions the same as you did the first time, as official transcripts. Your school should attach class rank as well. Once they have been received by the academy, I would contact your admissions counselor and draw his/her attention to the rank if the portal doesn't change. Considering you only made about a .3% improvement, it probably won't make a huge difference, but hey, it can't hurt and it's better than going down right?
 
Our semester ends January 25. Do you think the transcripts should be sent Fed Ex to make it by the 1/31/13 deadline?
 
Renegado, my semester doesn't end until 1/29 but the admissions counselor I talked to said that it didn't matter if they arrived by 1/31 since it was sort of "progress check" to make sure you are still getting good grades.
