This is for direct commission not a SA but there is nowhere else I have found that would suppport this type of question.

I am supposed to arrive to DCC in 2 weeks and have no answer on my medical waiver. Is this normal?

I have reached out to my recruiter, my DoDMERB contact, and spent a lot of time on google with no answers.

What is your recruiter or DodMerb saying? I'm afraid I don't have any answers, but if anyone can help you it would likely be them.

Just that he hopes I will have an answer soon. I just cannot tell if this is normal or not. :/

I agree with @EJF that your recruiter or possibly your contact at DCC (once you are accepted normally you get a contact at DCC for questions) would be the ones to inquire to. I can make an informed guess.... you will not be able to formally be accepted (attend DCC) until your medical is buttoned up.

The reason for this is, even DCC has a lot of physical fitness type of activities and if your condition that requires a waiver causes any serious consequences at DCC without a waiver, the military would be on the hook for disability as well as veterans benefits from day 1 (since you take the oath and are AD upon reporting). I have never heard of a situation where a member was inducted (enlisted), Commissioned (officer), or allowed to enter service without full medical clearance.

Get ahold of your Class Advisor at DCC or your recruiter, they would have access to any waiver info or status.

Thanks I have reached out and he just keeps telling me I have enough time to report if my waiver is approved but I work full time, have a mortgage, pets, a wife, etc so realistically I cannot up and go if my waiver gets approved last minute. Once a decision is made I will report back!
