Nice, thanks! Out of curiosity, is anyone planning on bringing boots? They "highly recommend" that we do, but I'm worried about adding more things to carry....

DS said no to bringing boots. Going to fly low and avoid the radar.

My DD also says don't worry about bringing boots. You'll get 2 pairs issued when you get there. And no matter how much you break in the boots that you bring, you will still get blisters. Everyone does.

Good to know. My main concern was about avoiding blisters, but if that's unavoidable anyway, I won't do it.

Another question I had was, do they have a problem if females bring undershirts to wear under blues? My logic was, if we're going to be out in the hot CO sun in blues, we might get kind of gross even if we are only marching, and having an undershirt would keep the actual blues shirt cleaner.

They issue you everything you need. I'd wait until after BCT to get more undershirts. You really don't want to bring more stuff than you need on day 1. You'll probably be marching in ABUs more often than your blues during BCT anyway and I know that they issue you t-shirts for those.

I wouldn't bring/get boots until you know you'll be allowed to wear them. At the very least, wait until after basic, because you won't be allowed to wear them during basic.
