Hello Everyone,
My son applied for the 2020 SLE. His status is pending. When can he expect a response? Have many students been accepted yet? Thank you.

I was rejected in late March of last year.
Also, don’t be discouraged if you don’t get a favorable result... continue to work hard and it will pay off.

My DS is still pending for SLE session 2 as well, but he was accepted into the summer seminar for USAFA so he may just go that route. Good luck to your son.

My DD is still waiting to hear from West Point but got into USAFA. I am really hoping she hears from West Point so she will have a better feel of that campus. Right now she is currently set as WP being 2nd choice, but I would like her to see it and experience it as well.

All - make sure anyone who's waiting on word to apply for Boys or Girls State as well. Slots are limited for SLE, and State reportedly counts the same. Good luck!

I applied to SLE on the first day applications were open, and I was accepted to SLE Session 2 on Feb. 10. Good luck to your son!

Curious about what you mean by Boys or Girls State reportedly counts the same?

My daughter was accepted to session 1 at USMA (starts May 30) and to USAFA SS. She has one week left in June and is hoping to fill it with USNA - she has already been to CVW there. Is anyone else here going to be at session 1?

They count the same as SLE toward the Leadership Score of the WCS (according to RC). There are limited slots for SLE, roughly 1 per Congressional District. So, Boys/Girls State is a very viable option for candidates looking to gain experience and add a valuable experience to their resume.

Maybe things changed since 2017, but SLE didnt add to WCS but boys/girls state did.

SLE adds zero points to your WCS, while Boys/Girls State adds a significant amount. Place Boys/Girls State as the priority, but both are excellent!

Hi! I am in the same boat but I received an email from an LTC basically stating "SLE is still on despite Coronavirus and that all applicants can expect a final decision in the first week of April"

This email was about five days ago. I think that with coronavirus, CO '25 might not get any summer seminars (Or Boys/Girls States for that matter)

Just something to keep in mind unfortunately
