2022 Commissioning Week Schedule

Here is the USNA Commissioning Week homepage. Go to hamburger menu in upper left for schedule, etc.

thanks for posting,

much of the content still shows 2021, though they did update some of the dates

i'm wondering what the attendance policy will be for the stadium on commissioning day. last year it was increased from 6-8 per graduating mid, but that was based on covid protocols, and masking and distancing was still required i think.

what was the limit pre-covid? was there an upper limit for the number of people in the stadium?

I am going to assume (never a good idea) that the policy will be the same as pre-covid. Football games were all back to normal last season.

i found the 2019 schedule, it said "4 ticket limit for alternate indoor location" but didn't specify a limit for the stadium

is that how it normally is? (pre- and hopefully post-covid)

we will have more than 8 relatives on hand, need to start thinking about who makes the cut :0

That was the indoor limit way back when dinosaur's roamed the streets of Annapolis (1985).

Our Commissioning Week was wet ...and indoor graduation was threatening. I had at least 5 who needed to get in -- (Mom&Dad, Fiancee (getting married a week later) and her parents. My dad often told the story how he had decided that he would be the odd man out, since he figured the of the group, he had the best chance of talking his way in. Fortunately we didn't have to resort to that as it turned out warm and sunny.

Latest I’ve seen, with assigned companies Supe receptions, ring dance, Herndon etc….

So many events leading to actual commissioning. The “happy hour” at 3PM, is that like a real happy hour with unlimited all you can eat wings and discounted drinks or more like a tea reception/wine tasting deal?

This is the Navy. There is Happy Hour every day. Somewhere. At all hours, given the Navy standard is “the sun is over the yardarm somewhere.”

This is not just a schedule of events, it lets Yard visitors know what’s open and available on the Yard without having to walk into DTA or go to your hotel/rental house for food. Smart to put it in there. Why lose business out the gate when you can get people into nice A/C and earn some revenue to feed back into the Brigade Fund?

Thanks. I’m not familiar with Navy Customs and Courtesies. So happy hour is happy hour 🍗 🍺. I’ve attended British “tea” with the Singapore Army. I thought it was just tea but a full-blown buffet. Tea at 1000, break for lunch, and another tea by 1500.

All I know is that I’m overwhelmed 🤯💨

It looks like an “event” on the schedule, but it’s just a posting of hours.
