2023 Indoc Planning Begins

KPEng simply asked a question then made a true statement of fact, that indoc is not in fact an acronym. He did not state that anyone was wrong to do so and in fact did not question anyone on this thread but questioned the Academy's use of it in all caps on their website. sunnydreamer than made a statement which could be considered rude and denigrating for no apparent reason.

I actually thought KPEng showed restraint in his response.

It's not always in what you say but the way you say it. That's all. Sunnydreamer wasn't rude; it was the poster that he was replying to that was rude. The attitude of a couple of the people who have been posting lately makes me hesitant to read, let alone post anymore. Ya'll might just want to think about how you are coming across to new members who are here to gain some insight and get some information and not here to listen to arguing about who is more qualified to answer a question properly.

@joriebelle Actually, imo the first person on this thread who was rude, and responding to a legitimate question asked to someone else, was you.

KP Eng. Rude because she answered your question with support for using all caps for INDOC?

But addressing joriebelle, there always seems to be a group of folks that seem to believe being at KP or an alum of KP automatically gives more credibility to their opinions, about everything, and that posters who are not there or are not alums have lessened credibility on all issues. Respectfully, this is not true. There are posters on this board who have a long history with the academy, but did not go there. You can have knowledge without being a grad. Of course, current speeches or current orders are likely best known by current mids. Not grads. Not outsiders. But not always.

I am not a grad. But I have been involved for over 20 years. Professionally, financially, and support/sponsorship activities. I have met a lot of people from a lot of classes in a lot of different fields. I keep in touch with a good number of these folks. They are both involved and not involved.

Do I know everything. No. Do I believe I have some insight that others, even some alums or mids, may not have . Yes. Do they have insight that I do not. Yes.

So, all discussion is good as long as it is open and directed in a respectful manner. I think it is the respectful manner that all of us steps out of at times.

Rude because it was clearly trying to be snarky. Any further questions, PM me. I’ll say this, a regimental
review looks a lot different from the stands than it does from the field.
