Gary Sinse performed for the recruits at Great Lakes Naval Base last night. If you search for his page on facebook you can see some video from it. Regardless if our DS and DD were there, makes me love Gary Sinise even more and it was really nice to see.

Just a quick note that the public affairs officer(s) for each NSI session and for that matter in each semester at your young adult's NROTC unit will greatly impact the volume, quality, and frequency of when updates are posted. I would not necessarily benchmark expectations on prior activity. Also, approval is needed for posts so there was one example of a PAO who loudly complained to their peers and created a share folder to share updates that were submitted, but waited weeks for permission approvals from a LT that seldom came. We were spoiled for a couple of semesters with great updates from a couple of rock star PAOs and then got a couple of lemon cycles where we'd sooner see tumbleweeds than updates, and when they came in they were underwhelming. For my son's 1/c year, most of the senior shoutouts which provide a nice narrative of the midn's journey, major, a few pics, and their service selection were never posted - terrible PAO.
With regards to the Gary Sinese concert at Great Lakes, that is cool and thanks for sharing it. I'm advised that no the NSI trainees did not attend. As I posted about years ago, a few of us got a good chuckle when in 2019 a parent asked if they would be rolling in a large TV so that the arrivals could watch the world cup, which happened to be underway at the same time as their intake. As anyone who went through it or a family member who got a decent debrief can attest, ummm, no it's not a casual - hey go relax and socialize for a few hours - let me bring in some snacks and a tv for ya kind of day
