DS received letter that he is scheduled for a 2nd interview with one of his senators. Obviously this is good news but we didn't realize this could happen. Do most MOC's have second rounds of interviews? Anybody have experience with this?

Didn't you say your DS had applied to more than one academy? Pure speculation from an uninformed bystander to follow: Maybe they want to nominate for one but want to talk with him about his goals. For instance if they gave him the KP nom but he really wanted NA would he accept KP or vice versa. It would seem to me there is more applicants for the other nom.s but they want to try to stack their own deck as much as possible and have their nom.s be successful. Sounds like a winner to me. Whoo Hoo for you!
The nomination thread would prolly hold information from folks with the same experience or those much closer to the process. Good luck!

Yes, DS is applying to both USMMA and USNA. He has an LOA from USMMA. Both his senators required that he specify just one academy on his application, so he chose USNA for one and USMMA for the other. This particular 2nd interview is for the senator that he chose USMMA. In his first interview with this senator, they did ask him his top choice and he was honest and said USNA. They told him that would not influence their decision. So I believe this interview is purely for the USMMA nomination since that is what he chose. Wouldn't it be nice though if they were considering him for both noms?
