I am related to a female who is 3q'd, Completed Application, and an ROTCH Nomination. What is your opinions on what she should expect next. Just curious.....

an appointment. Hahaha! If you don't mind me asking... how do you know you're triple qualified? The medical and the CFA I can understand, but isn't one aspect academic and determined by admissions?

In all seriousness, if your file really is super competitive, maybe an appointment is in the wings for you since you've already got a nomination. But hey, who's to say at this point?

Academic Qualifying is done by the admissions committee i believe. Since it is the first week of classes and the admissions committee, at least in my day, was made up of faculty and staff, they probably haven't met yet to decide is academically qualified.

DS was 3Q by July last year and had a LOA in July. It helps to get your file completed early. You cannot emphasis it enough, complete your file.

My file was complete in June, I passed my CFA, and I'm qualified by DoDMERB... does that make me triple qualified?

Someone may be able to answer better than I can, but if I remember correctly, a letter is sent letting you know your 3Q and you can check your portal to see if your boxes are all checked off.

Well all of my boxes are checked, but I don't think that necessarily means you are triple q'd

All of her boxes are checked "GREEN" including the "Nomination Recirved".
Her file was closed in mid June. She is very determined and would love to attend USMA as i am sure most folks on this blog would. She even went so far as to go to watch the march back and was thrilled to see the class of 2015 complete their dificult journey. Best of luck to her and everybody who wants to serve, has served and is serving.

Here's the deal.....

until an appointment drops on her doorstep - an APPOINTMENT not an LOA - this young lady needs to aggressively pursue all nominations for which she is eligible. At the very least, this includes applying to her US Senators (both) and her US Representative.
While she *might* win an appointment with solely a ROTC nomination - understand that the Academy is very limited in the number of appointments they can offer to those who have a ROTC nomination. That limited number is 20. This includes any candidates who are applying from college. Hundreds of applicants will have ROTC nominations - she can best her odds by seeking another nomination.

Good for her for completing her application packet so early!

Thank you for that explaination of the ROTCH nomination situation. She was just suprised to see the green check mark by the "Nominations Received".
I know this because she is my daughter and i just figured out to say my "DD" when refering to her. So..my DD is very much aggressively going after a MOC nomination. She was told by all three MOC's that everything was in and complete and to wait on an interview (After Oct 15th). She was told that the only thing she can do to improve her file to WP is to improve her standardized test scores.

Correction: My DD is 2 q'd. Physically and Medically. She will be attempting to improving her ACT/SAT test scores next month and the next. Sorry...Jumped the gun a little bit. I wish her and all of you who are working hard to get into the school of your dreams! Best of luck!!!!!!
