Hello,

I finished all parts of the USMA application recently. My question is if I should be receiving notice that I am 3Q? I have two nominations and am medically qualified. How will this notification come (portal or in mail)? Is it weird that I haven't heard anything in regards to this yet? Thanks for your help.

You also need to pass your CFA and have good academics to be 3Q'd. If you fit all the categories then you may or may not get a letter dependent on your Regional Commander. It took about three weeks for me to get mine (including winter break, when no one in admissions was working). I've heard some RC's don't give them out at all though.

Should you be receiving a 3Q'd letter you ask. The answer: maybe, maybe not. Will it show up in the mail or portal you ask. The answer: maybe. maybe not. Is it weird you haven't heard anything you ask. The answer: maybe, maybe not.

Because you have checked all of the boxes required of you, doesn't mean you have reached a mile stone and a 3Q'd letter is sent. WP may not send a letter because you are very competitive and will receive an appointment so why bother. I can guarantee you're entering the most difficult phase; the waiting. Be patient. Work on you Plan B and get those 7th semester transcripts in asap.

No one here is on the admission boards so no guaranteed information will be given. In my opinion you seem to be in a good position,

Daine,
You might want to check your portal. In mid-December when my son logged on and the portal opens up to what I would call the home page, he noticed several PDF documents listed on the left hand side of the screen. One of them was a letter that said he was qualified but should continue to update his profile with recent accomplishments etc.
He has not received any physical letter. As Tug said above, it sounds like there's no hard and fast protocols around this letter.
Good luck!
