My DD has been wait listed and we are looking for a list or matrix of the core classes that cadets take for the first year or two at the academy. I'm familiar with the plebe schedule at Navy but cant seem to find the same info for CGA.

I'm just a parent, so please allow others to confirm or contradict this ascertion...

I believe that all cadets regardless of major will have to complete Calculus I and II, Chemistry I and II, and Physics I and II. I do not believe that credits can be transferred to USCGA, but each department does have a validation process to determine proficiency.

Good luck and best wishes.

I'm a parent as well. And wanted to add that at AEP they did mention a change in the core curriculum for next year. As in- some non tech majors may not have to take calc 2? Or something like that. Fingers crossed your DD is offered a spot off of waitlist. If she does decide to reapply , I would suggest she call admissions and ask specifically what classes they recommend
Best of luck!

There are changes every year to the course curriculum. All the courses referenced above are not required for all majors (i.e. 2019 Government majors are no longer required to take Physics 2). There are further proposed changes for the incoming Class of 2021. Curriculum information can be found in the current course catalog at this link: http://www.cga.edu/registrar/

There is a validation process, but credits cannot be transferred to CGA.

The course catalog also includes the courses required to be completed, and the associated GPA required, for admission to the respective majors upon completion of the 3/c year. There is a lot of important information in the catalog, and is worth the time to read.

Thanks all, DD is a college student and has taken a plebe like schedule this year. If she is fortunate enough to receive an appointment she would most likely be a Government major and would be thrilled to not have to take Physics 2.
