We received notification that DD received two 3 year scholarships, 1 to Boston College and the 2nd to the University of Texas. She/we are thrilled with the offer but we are curious to understand how CC determines a 4yr. vs. a 3 yr.?

I've never figured that one out. I've always assumed the highest ranked candidates get the 4 yr (my guess is about 25% of all scholarships) and the rest get 3 yr. However, sometimes it is 4 Yr. to in state Publc and 3 yr. to Private. The 1st Board offers the greatest % of 4 yr., followed by the 2nd Board, and then the 3rd Board has little or no 4 yr. left.

Thanks. I spoke with a ROTC representative after the first review and she told me the cutoff for the October Board was a SAT score of 2040/ACT 31 and they issued approx. 200 scholarships. My daughter made the second board review and has a composite ACT score of 29 and her superscore is 30. I am sure there are other factors.
