My DD is a Sophomore and would like to attend summer seminar next year. How hard is to get in? And what recommendations do you have to increase her chances of getting in?

I heard last year that the competition was pretty heavy. I could be wrong, but I thought I heard that something like 20% of applicants were accepted.
The things that will make her more competitive for USAFA C/O 2021 (WOW that seems so far away!) will also make her more competitive for SS. Things such as good grades and test scores, sports, leadership, community involvement, etc. strengthen an application. When I was applying, my ALO told me not to be discouraged if I didn't get selected, because aside from the aforementioned points, USAFA looks to select a diverse population of students for SS, so it is not 100% based off of the strength of the application. So tell her to just keep doing what she's doing to become competitive for USAFA and she stands a good chance!
