7th semester transcript requests

Do all candidates receive a request for 7th semester transcripts? I have read a lot on here about people receiving requests on portal and/or snail mail but DS did not. His file is complete (3Q), and he will submit anyway, but just wondering why some receive and others do not.
 
I've done alot of reading, from what I've come to understand, not all applicants have 7th semester transcripts requested of them
 
My DS is in the same boat. No notification. That said, there does appear to be a lot of inconsistencies... maybe due to the region you are in? For instance, my DS got an LOE and it was listed on his portal. He received a 3Q letter in the mail only, and it is not showing on his portal. I've heard others indicate the opposite. So, I'm thinking it is a regional thing, based on which admissions group is handling your application????
 
I'm thinking that is not true at USMA. The portal indicates it is a requirement after Jan 1st.
It is a requirement, so that is why I am wondering why the requests are even sent out and if there is a reason some get and others don't.
 
We got that letter too. Our school won't produce them until after the January 31 deadline referred to in the letter. (Semester ends Jan 24).
 
USMA Admissions still operates very much in a “manual” way. Because of this we still see many inconsistencies in the process across the board. Some candidates will receive a 3Q letter almost immediately and others who are also 3Q will not. Some get a 7th semester transcript request, others won’t (perhaps later in the cycle). For those trying to read into what this means for your candidacy I say don’t fret. I worked in the Admissions office and recall many of these issues. The bottom line is if you have passed your CFA, are qualified by DODMERB and have very competitive SAT/ACT scores then the process continues to move forward for you. With the last application cycle, my DD got an LOA in late August with DODMERB qualified around the same time. She had a nom on file in late July.

In the LOA letter, she was given until 15 October to submit all her SOE and essays as none have been submitted at that point. She had her entire app complete by the first week of October.

She got the 7th semester notice by it turning red on her portal around this time. She didn’t wait for a letter (via snail mail or portal) to prompt her to get the 7th semester transcripts. She knew USMA would want them eventually so she went ahead and got them sent. She wanted her portal to all be green sooner rather than later.

Her counselor submitted the 7th semester grades as soon as they were available sometime around the first week in Jan.

She got her appointment the Wednesday before MLK weekend. In reality, the MOC called that day and her portal changed the Saturday following with an accept appointment button.

My DD got an LOE portal only.

Less than a week later, she got an LOA snail mail only. Never showed up in the portal.

She got a 3Q eventually portal only. Might have been sometime in the fall.

For 7th semester transcripts, it turned red on her portal after being green until 31 December. That prompted her to send in a request for transcripts to her counselor.

A more specific question, will my 10th trimester transcript (1st trimester of senior year) validate the 7th semester transcript request?
I sent my 10th trimester transcript in a month ago but the transcript part of portal still remains red (I understand that many people in admissions may not be there at the moment).

I was planning to reach out to my RC about this as well but wanted to ask here first.

That sounds like a great question for the candidate technician in your region. He/she is the one who updates the files, so they would likely know how it works with trimesters. You can find their contact info here:

I really hope WP doesn’t turn around and ask for my 1st and 2nd trimester senior year transcripts because I couldn’t get the 2nd trimester ones until mid-March which is far too late.
