Does West Point require a 7th semester transcript before an appointment is offered?
 
There is a check mark for 7th semester grades on the portal. I have sent mine.
 
It is not a requirement before an appointment is offered. It is however, a requirement to be done before the due date.
 
Just checked my portal and I received official communication today stating that my file was not complete and that I need to submit 7 th semester grades. I wish that meant I had an appointment.

Not trying to give any advice here, by the way. Just reporting on my experience. I really don't have a clue as to how this works. I recvd a nom on Jan 31 then the request for grades today.
 
Look at it this way. The application process is a puzzle. You are asked to provide all of the pieces to the puzzle. 7th semester transcripts are just another piece. By providing all of the pieces, you provide the best picture of yourself to the Admissions Board for them to make a decision. If you have a nomination and your 7th semester transcripts were specifically requested now, they are trying to get a clearer picture of you right now. Take it as a good sign and send in your 7th semester transcript now or as soon as it's available.
 
DS also received that letter on his portal today (NE Region). It will be at least a week before his 7th semester transcript is available (we had our mid-term week cancelled due to bad weather, so he just took his mid-terms today). Does anyone know if there is a quicker way to send the transcript, other than snail-mail?
 
I also had the request for information, which meant my transcript, today. I contacted my admissions officer for my region and they said that West Point did not receive my official transcript in the mail. He said that I can send it through my counselor via email. I will have it up by tomorrow and this is just a suggestion in case others on here had the same problem with West Point not receiving your official transcript.
 
I believe I posted around new year that 7th semester transcripts WOULD be required prior to the file completion deadline even if you hadn't received word directly from your RC; it is in the instructions to candidates. Take this seriously. Every year someone says that they didn't know and their file is closed. If you can't get it in because of X reason, you need to communicate that to your RC now.
 
Oh DS definitely knows about it (we have been talking about it since the 6th semester transcript was sent!)....just got plans to send it in trumped by the weather! So when you e-mail it, did the GC just send it as an attachment to the Regional Admissions e-mail? Or, for faxing, is there actually a fax number for the Regional Admissions folks?
 
Email should work if it is a PDF document. Most RCs and teams have the fax number on their email as well. It's probably somewhere on the website too.
 
Thanks 845 - found all the above. Hopefully, the GC will have everything figured by the end of the week. It is usually the class rank that holds things up.
 
I got a request for my 7th sem transcript. I scanned it and emailed it to admissions, and it was added the same day. Good luck!

EDIT: Just a piece of advice, you might want to contact admissions before you send your transcript in an alternate method, just incase because it's not the "usual" method
 
Mine was verified today by admissions. All good. Anxiously waiting now...
 
Our school only updates annually. The transcripts were sent directly from the school so we actually never saw them.
