A (likely) dumb question about USNA's Class Profiles

I'm curious if anyone knows...

Are the class profile stats culled from the appointee's applications at the time of acceptance, or are they updated by USNA admissions after 8th semester? Maybe another way of asking this is do the SA's update the appointed individual's "resume" (GPA, EAs, sports letters, captaincies, etc.) to reflect the entire high school period? I'm thinking they must because USAFA lists valedictorians, which I suspect cannot be known until the final days of school. If this is indeed the case, then juniors in high school may be trying to match or exceed profile statistics for persons who have had one additional year of high school. Not saying that isn't a good guidepost because the reality of it is that the application typically includes only 6 (or possibly 7) semesters' records. But when the profile for the Class of 2021 lists, for example, 92% as having participated in varsity athletics and 74% as Captains-Co-Captain, don't those percentages reflect some who didn't attain the status of varsity athlete or captain until after their completed application was submitted and reviewed by admissions? Similarly, when we see folks posting personal stats on these forums, are we seeing the stats included in the applications or the stats upon graduation? Seems also that re-applicants would have the benefit (beyond a year of college) of including their entire high school record in their re-application (which could include, for example, captain of the baseball team - a spring sport - which likely would not have been included in the first application).

SA's normally prepare class profiles after reporting day, when all information is in the file.

According to profile on USNA website, USNA's Class of 2021 profile is based on the 1,214 that reported on I-Day.

Do those that accept appointments submit final info from high school (transcripts, EC updates, etc.)?

I can tell you that my DS only reported his class rank after his first six (6) semesters.
As far as he knows, USNA never asked the school for data from his senior year.
His class rank did not change this year.
I think that if they asked for class rank data again this year, his Guidance Counselor would have told him.

It was still 2017 when he received his Offer, so it's my guess that his class rank didn't matter after he accepted.

All colleges, including service academies, require a final transcript. No college is going to enroll a student without proof that they completed the required coursework and actually graduated from high school. It's standard for a high school to have a process to get the required information to the right place on time.

Somewhere in there, either in the final report or during in-processing, the academy will gather any other info needed for the profile. If a candidate accepts an appointment and later declines, the final report may or may not be sent to the academy, depending on timing. That person may be included in admissions statistics, but won't be in the the class profile.
