About West Point appointments and AROTC college scholarships

Hello

In addition to applying for an appointment to West Point, I have applied for an AROTC 4-year college scholarship that would pay for a civilian college education. I'm just trying to diversify my options, but my parents are much more supportive of me going through ROTC rather than West Point. So, I was wondering if its possible to use a USMA appointment to help tip a ROTC scholarship acceptance board in your favor? Could an appointment to West Point make you a more favorable candidate for a ROTC scholarship?

I am sure they would be more inclined to give you a scholarship however I encourage you to do what you want. If USMA is your first choice, you will regret not going there just because of your parents.
