Does USMA view or care about number of absences from school during senior year? It's not going to have an affect on my grades or getting my diploma or anything, but I had already had a few missed days, not a big deal, but then just had missed a lot of school with a concussion. I'm fine and no long term issues or nothing that'll mess me up with DoDMERB, but will they care about my school attendance assuming my grades are fine, although I may get 1-2 C's on my 7th semester transcript which I'm freaking out about now

No, SAs do not care about your school attendance, I don't think it is even reported on your transcript. They only thing the look for are your grades, behavior issues and ECs activities e.t.c Plus a few Cs at this point will not put a hole into your file as a qualified candidate, many people get them especially in challenging classes.

Thank you for the information and reassurance! Was getting quite stressed so really appreciate the relief!

In general, how well are already accepted seniors supposed to do during their seventh and eighth semesters? Will offers be rescinded over C's or only failed classes?

I accepted my appointment last week but I have finals this week and it looks like I'm going to have at least 2 C's and around a 3.0 for my seventh semester...

It would be interesting to hear from someone on here with experience with one or more rescinded offers -- perhaps a Field Force Rep who has seen it happen? The discussions I have seen here where issues have been raised after appointment on this forum have been almost solely those with character and disciplinary concerns - but those may be self-selecting, as the kid who gets kicked out for low grades is less likely to post here.

My other thought on the post above is to encourage the OP to look both at the advice and its source, and to encourage those on the forum to follow the recommendation to respond only if they are a reliable source, and cite a source for their information if it is available.

I have worked in the guidance office for a very long time to know if this effects a student or not, there many factors why people might miss school and on attendance it either says perfect attendance not, if they care for your high school attendance I think they will be interested in knowing why a student is absent.

Please see SeaMar's suggestion of asking your FFR or MALO your attendance question. While well-meaning, an answer from a fellow high schooler who works in the guidance office of his/her high school is not an official answer. Hopefully you are not going to fall below your state's attendance requirement for graduation.

Ok, you have all spoken and I understand the issue is if I am a reliable source. army2021 go ahead and ask this information and let me know, so that I won't give out wrong advice if I am wrong.

Yes appointments can be taken back and have been. Yes 7th and 8th semester grades are important. C's and D's in English, Math, or Sciences are bad.

So what did DODMERB have to say about your concussion?
