Academic Calendar Question

Just want to make sure I understand the USCGA calendar correctly. We are currently working on rescheduling the trip we had planned as a graduation gift to our daughter for next summer whenever she will be able to take leave. Since we are trying to simply postpone current bookings instead of canceling them, we need to make these plans fairly soon.

It looks like for summer 2021 the cadets will have their break between 20 May and 13 June. Is that correct?
If not, can someone clarify when their personal leave will be for summer 2021? Is it the same for all years? She will be class of 2024.

Well that means we will lose $2700 in flight credits that we won't get to use in time. :( Ugh.
I guess I just don't understand the dates on the calendar then.
 
Looking at the Yearly Calendar, I am guessing you're looking at the time period between graduation and the Summer Academic Term. These two things have nothing to do with summer schedule for 3/c. Almost all 3/c will depart the Academy immediately after the conclusion of finals to get underway either on Eagle or to go to their summer fleet unit. After the first 5 weeks, they will switch, and a few will depart the first phase of Eagle to return to the Academy for summer school, which is the Summer Academic term you see. After the phase change, they will be at that unit for 6 weeks, at which point they will depart for three weeks of leave before returning to New London for the Fall Semester.

I will add that it some cadets will go to one unit for eleven weeks, and if presented with a compelling reason, Cadet Training may allow some cadets to switch leave around, especially if it lines up with when ships are at sea, but this is DEFINITELY not the norm and certainly no way to know if that's even possible until the spring semester of 4/c year. Your safest option is definitely to use them over Winter/Spring Break if at all possible.

Thanks for the explanation. I knew they only got about 3 weeks, but wasn't sure when it was. As you stated, I was looking at the period between graduation and summer academic term.

Unfortunately we had a 2 week trip planned including a 25 hour travel time on each end so it won't be possible to take that trip over spring break and we have other plans at Christmas. :(

My 1C right now ... never had a planned summer schedule. His 2C summer changed 3x.
