Academy and ROTC essays

Is it acceptable to have almost identical essays for an academy and it’s complimentary ROTC branch? If it asks the same question, why should you write a different essay and just not switch out the Academy part for “”ROTC?

I would think that would not be optimal since, at least for AROTC and USMA, the length requirements are different and you may want to use every word you can to write good essays. However, I think the spirit of the essays could be the same.... at least that’s what DS did.

Yeah that’s what I mean. I would switch up some ideas and wording to get the best out of each. But otherwise yes the spirit is the same on some of the questions.

As with any writing exercise, consider the audience first. These are (slightly) different audiences, and probably deserve slightly different organization and emphasis in your essay.
