Academy DVD in the mail

I got a call from my parents saying they got a DVD in the mail from the academy called 'The Life of a Falcon.' I assume it's sent to all candidates, but since I'm at college and not at home to view it I was wondering if someone else did. Anyone know if this is just a new thing this year and what's on the movie?

I just got one yesterday... It was a short ten-minute video covering just an overview of the USAFA. Nothing really new if you have been on their website. Probably just to show that they are interested in their cadets.

I got my DVD today, no appointment. As kirbinator, nothing really new. They have interviews from the cadets in these videos.

I got mine... Also no appointment. If you want to view it just go to http://www.usafa.af.mil/index.cfm?catname=Academy Info and its on that page as a small sized video. Really nothing new, just an "this is the academy" reminder.

Okay.. so are they telling us to hang there..??? my daughter got hers today. In the meantime got all the ROTC stuff in yesterday. What do you all think? If they were not serious would they send that out? Anyone has past experience with this?

I'm betting they're just reminding all the candidates to hang in there. Admissions probably wants the candidates to keep their enthusiasm about the academy up while they are waiting. Prevents some candidates from giving up and deciding to go with the "other" university they applied to and already received acceptance from.

btown... Remember that those of us with the DVD would much rather have the appointment than the DVD, so no complaining!!! wink:)

I'm a freshman cadet, and I never got a DvD. THis is probably something new.

they are probably using it for Academy promotion...like how other schools send out brochures and DvDs. Not many people know about the Academy and will apply on a whim.

I just got mine today, already watched it. It seemed dated but had good information. If anyone with an appointment wants to trade, I am sure I could work something out.........I am just saying.

I received the DVD too, mostly the same old same old, with a few interesting clips.

Haha I pretty much have every paper related to the AFA taped to my wall. (except for the booklets, they kinda weigh too much lol)
