I was curious on the interview process for USMA, I know that USNA and USAFA both require interviews, but from what I know USMA will ASK for a candidate to interview. I emailed my FFR about this a couple months ago, and we interviewed "by my request" as I was told, but I was asked if I ever scheduled one by the admissions team and they said my first one was never submitted. I haven't heard a lot of talk about interviews for USMA so I'm not sure if they're required or not: just wondering.

See Step 4 on USMA website.

Yes, I have had two candidates (both sons) go through this process and each spoke with the Virginia Congressional Liaison for information and had scheduled, more formal, interviews with the Field Force Officer. These interviews do contribute to the “points” in the candidate score and are necessary to be completed before the application can be marked “complete” and sent to the admissions committee. Very similar to BGO interview with Navy. I guess the logic is that if you read the application instructions, read the website, you will reach out to the Field Force Officer listed in your portal. Good luck!

Guidance from USMA Admissions is to complete interviews for all Admissible candidates and ideally to complete interviews for all Competitive candidates.
