I was at A day on Saturday but in a bad location with limited visibility and inability to clearly hear the speaker. Does anyone know the number of cadets that were accepted?

Also, I was leaving campus last night (Sunday) while the Affirmation ceremony was preparing to begin. I am also curious how many cadets did or didn't affirm? I heard that some will be at the affirmation ceremony but then won't attend classes after wards as they choose not to affirm. just curious on the number sand percentages of those in both A days that stay on/ or don't?

Spoke to our son after Affirmation last night (sigh). Exact numbers won't be known generally for a while, but he said attrition was around 20 last year which is typical. Also, recent change in payback rules for those who leave is that the meter starts running today. Any cadet who leaves after today will not be charged anything for the first two years, just the days/weeks/months after Affirmation. The old rule was that the bill started with Plebe academic year.

More experienced posters can add to or correct my statements.

During the brief the old grads got before the march back last week, they told us the number was around 20-25 new cadets will not make it through Beast. They were pretty evenly split between the two details.

Hope your son has a good semester ahead of him!

Just curious, when did that change?

Cadets have obligation after Sunday night cow year with affirmation. This has not changed.

I meant the change to you only having to pay back whatever cow/firstie year time you spent after affirmation, not the entire time you spent at the Academy, if you decided to affirm. I understand what Affirmation Day means seeing as that was one of the bigger days in my life four years ago.
